Robyn Rihanna Fenty also referred to as Rihanna is an Barbadian singer-songwriter who gave us hits like Pon de Replay SOS Umbrella and Take a Bow. She is a very popular artist, who has sold over 41 million albums worldwide and more than 150 million songs. Her birthplace was in Barbados and was raised to reggae. When she began to sing, she became a professional singer. Due to the chaos that surrounded her family and the fights her parents had, she decided to take up music. She soon decided that she would like to become an artist. She formed a musical group as a teenager and was able to have an audition with music producer Evan Rodgers who was highly impressed by the teenager's talents. He suggested that she move from her home in New York in order to take on a full-time job as a singer which she readily accepted. Rihanna made her debut album, and was an overnight star. The singer was popular among the youth for her peppy and foot-tapping songs. This led to Rihanna pursuing directing. Pretty young and highly talented she is today regarded as a teen idol and a fashion icon. Rihanna also puts her fame to good use, and is actively involved with several charity causes.
