Audra Mcdonald is a singular artist due to the range and variety of her skills as an actor and singer. In 2015, she was awarded record-breaking six Tony Awards as well as two Grammy Awards and the Emmy Award. She was also acknowledged in Time magazine among the 100 most influential people and was awarded with the National Medal of Arts - the top award given in America for artistic achievement as awarded by President Barack Obama. She has a home on television, film as well as Broadway. Her stunning soprano makes her a natural on the stage. McDonald lived in Fresno California and received her classical vocal training at the New York's Juilliard School. Along with setting the record for the most awards won by actors in competition, she also became the first individual to win honors in the four categories of acting. McDonald was also on The Secret Garden (1993), Marie Christine (1999), Henry IV (2004) and 110 in the Shade (2007 Twelfth night (2009) and the film Shuffle Along A Musical Shock: The Making of the Musical Shock of 1921, and All That Followed (2016). McDonald was the first actress to receive an award in every one of the acting categories. McDonald was awarded a 4th Emmy nomination for her performance in HBO's special film of Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill in the year the year 2016. The actress starred with Taylor Schilling and Steven Pasquale in The Bite a six-episode pandemic-themed comedy co-produced through Spectrum Originals and CBS Studios in 2021. She starred in 2009 as U.S. Attorney Liz Lawrence on CBS's drama about lawyers The Good Wife. In the year 2018, McDonald played her character Liz Reddick as a regular on Paramount's The Good Fight. She earned three Critics Choice Award nods for the performance. She is a guest star on Julian Fellowes's historical drama The Gilded Age.
