
Leona Louise (born on the 3rd April in 1986) is a British musician, actress as well as activist and performer. Her birthplace and childhood was in London Borough of Islington and took classes at the Croydon's BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology. Lewis became famous by winning the third series on The X Factor 2006 and was awarded a contract of PS1 million in partnership with Syco music. The single she won, which was a cover Kelly Clarkson's song "A Moment Like This" was downloaded 50,000 times within 30 minutes, and reached the top spot for about four weeks. Clive Davis's label, J Records, signed Lewis to a five-album agreement within the United States. Lewis continued her success by releasing Spirit, her first studio album. It sold 10x platinum and certified by the UK. Spirit became one of the top four albums sold in 2000, and was also one of the most popular UK albums. Based on the Official Charts Company, Spirit is the most-sold debut album from an artist of female origin during the 21st century. Its opening track "Bleeding Love" remained on top of the UK charts for seven weeks and became one of the best-selling singles in 2007. The single was the top-selling of 2008, as well. Lewis received her Billboard Award for the Most Popular New Artist. Echo is her second studio album. The album also featured the hit song "I Love You" for Avatar. Lewis was also the first to release "Collide," a joint work in collaboration with Swedish DJ Avicii. In 2011 she also released Hurt, the extended play that was the first single from her album. Her third studio album, Glassheart (2012), marked a new creative direction for Lewis and her music, drawing the inspiration of dubstep and electronic music. In the course of her Glassheart Tour in 2013, she began recording songs for her debut Christmas album. The following year, her Christmas with Love with Love, featuring the single that was released as the album's lead track "One more night" was ranked third within the UK. Lewis who is one of the few British female solo artist was the first British solo artist to break the top 5 with eight songs. It was more than Olivia Newton John's record which was seven.
